FXTM is an online broker specializing in currency trading and CFDs on foreign exchange markets, stocks, metals, commodities, and indices.
The following instructions will show you how to delete your FXTM account if you are unhappy with their services and wish to close your account.
Keep in mind that the steps below should be considered if you no longer need access to your FXTM account, as it can be difficult to retrieve your login information once it has been submitted.’
How to Delete FXTM Account
1) Log into your FXCM account
Go to the login page and enter your username and password. Once you’re logged in, click on the My Profile tab. On the left-hand side of the screen, click on Account Information.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Delete Account. Enter your password again to confirm and then click Delete Account.
2) Click on Settings
If you want to delete your account, the first step is to click on the settings tab. This can be found in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
Once you’re in the settings menu, scroll down until you see the Close Account button.
Clicking on this will take you to a confirmation window where it will ask for a reason for why you are closing your account.
There are four options for the reasons for deleting your account:
1) I no longer have an interest in trading with FXTM
2) I don’t use my FXTM trading account anymore
3) I am unhappy with my experience and service
4) Other (specify below). After choosing one of these reasons, hit Close My Account and then follow the instructions provided.
3) Click on Remove Personal Information
To remove your personal information and confirm that you wish to terminate your relationship with us, please click on Remove Personal Information above.
This option will take you to a new page which will ask you for further details of your request so we can confirm that you are who you say you are.
Please follow all of these instructions carefully as failure to provide accurate information may result in delays or non-response on our part. When you’re done with the form, click Submit Request.
4) Agree to terms and conditions
Before you can delete your account, you first need to agree to the terms and conditions. To do this, click on the link in the email you received from FXTM.
Once you’re on the website, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the I Agree to button.
Next, go back to the top of the page and find Close my account under Customer Service. Clicking on it will open a new tab with information about how to close your account.
Read through it carefully before clicking continue again. On the next screen, enter your login credentials and then click Continue.
From there, you’ll be asked to verify that you want to close your account by entering an email address where you want an automated message sent once the process is complete. Once that’s done, simply fill out the captcha field and then hit Complete Request at the bottom of the page.
5) Verify Email Address & Request Deletion
Before you can delete your account, you must first verify your email address. To do this, click on the link in the verification email that was sent to you when you first created your account. Once you have verified your email address, log into your account and click on the Request Deletion button.
You will be prompted to fill out a form with information about why you want to delete your account.
After submitting this form, there is a ten-day waiting period before the deletion request is processed and accepted.
During this time, you will not be able to access your account or trade any of your assets. The day after the ten days are up, FXTM deletes all of your personal data from their system.
A few weeks later, they send a confirmation letter via mail verifying that your account has been deleted. You should keep this letter for two years in case it’s needed for tax purposes.
